Choral scholars wanted

Linden Singers of Victoria is holding auditions for choral scholar positions as we prepare for our upcoming 2024/25 season.

The role of Choral Scholar is a paid position for music students interested in building community through song, and providing musical leadership to their section. We have openings for at least one singer in each voice section, soprano, alto, tenor and bass/baritone.

Choral Scholars should have excellent vocal technique, strong musicianship and solid sight-reading skills - along with a willingness to gently use all their skills to encourage and improve all members of their section. Choral Scholars are to be members of the Linden Singers community, first and foremost.

Choral Scholars will report to the Music Director and liaise with key members of their sections,to ensure the best possible results for the choir as a whole.

Choral Scholars may also have opportunities for mentorship in vocal technique/pedagogy, conducting or other adjunct skills from the Music Director, by mutual arrangement.

Interested SOPRANOS, ALTOS, TENORS and BASS/BARITONES should submit a resumé highlighting their skills and experiences appropriate to the role, as well as a statement of interest. The Music Director will reply to all applicants, arranging interview-auditions in person or over Zoom as appropriate.

Please submit your application ASAP - materials will be accepted until the posts are filled.
