Music Director, Linden Singers of Victoria

The Linden Singers of Victoria is an auditioned, mixed-voice ensemble of 30-40 adults of all ages, now in its 45th season. We are seeking a new Music Director starting with the fall of 2024.

Our choir is recognized in the Victoria community for performing a broad spectrum of secular and religious choral music from the 16th to the 21st century. Sometimes a cappella and often with the choir’s accomplished accompanist or guest musicians, Linden Singers has provided the Victoria choral scene with a rich variety of concerts over the years.

Linden Singers performs an eclectic range of repertoire, from Faure’s Requiem and Vivaldi’s Gloria to newly-composed works by Canadian composers such as David Archer, Stephen Chatman, Christine Donkins, and Jeff Enns. The choir collaborates with professional ensembles and has performed with Ballet Victoria, Emily Carr String Quartet, and a variety of professional-level soloists based in Victoria.

Our singers are proud to provide musical enjoyment and new experiences for our audiences and ourselves. The values that Linden Singers uses in all our endeavours include camaraderie, continuous learning, inclusiveness, respect, and service. Community and friendship are both important to the choir. Part of our mandate includes involvement in community service by performing for different charities and groups in the local area. Support and mentoring of young singers through artistic collaborations and as guest artistscontinues to be part of our focus.
